Thank you for your interest in our simple SMPTE time coded transcription service. Our clients agree that we've found a great way to log many hours of interview footage, without tying up your expensive production equipment and staff. Most producers hate to log sound bites; now we do it for you, fast!
The process is simple. Starting with raw footage in any format that contains linear time code, (Betacam, BetaSP, DV or DAT) you dub footage down to a standard-size audiocassette tape. Record the audio signal on one channel of the cassette and the linear time code on the other. We provide easy instructions for how to do this dub, or we can do it for you for a small fee. If your source tape does not have a linear time code, we can work from a VHS Window burn with continuous time code.
Your transcript will include SMPTE time code at the beginning of each sound bite. Standard turnaround time is 48 hours, faster if you need it. You can get an e-mail of your transcript in your choice of word processing software. Use your own computer to search and find keywords and phrases in the text; the time code in the left margin instantly keys the sound bites to source the tape.
Our method is quicker and cheaper than making a standard transcript and then adding the time code from a window dub. No more scrolling back and forth to find elusive sound bites. Why use your expensive equipment as intern driven transcript stations? We type SMPTE fast.
Of course, we do transcripts without time code, as well, for very competitive rates. While there are many transcription services available, we can give you time code as part of text using our quick one-step method. We have included dubbing instructions and some promotional material for your information. We hope to hear back from you soon.
